In their first game of doubles at the 2023 USBC Open Championships on Saturday, Mark Curtis Jr. with 168 and DeeRonn Booker with 213 struggled to 381.
That left them a seemingly unreachable 1,057 pins — a 264.25 average — behind the leading 1,438 of Nick Kruml and Christopher Wiley.
The 32-year-old right-handers blew past 1,057, as Curtis fired 274 and 280 for a 722 and Booker slammed 289 and 258 for a 760 and an astounding 1,482 total.
