In their first game of doubles at the 2023 USBC Open Championships on Saturday, Mark Curtis Jr. with 168 and DeeRonn Booker with 213 struggled to 381. That left them a seemingly unreachable 1,057 pins — a 264.25 average — behind the leading 1,438 of Nick Kruml and Christopher Wiley.
