If a person is conscientious, Hall of Fame voting can be a brutal experience. (If you're not conscientious, you have no business being a Hall of Fame voter!)
After all, you are helping decide whether or not a person gets the biggest honor possible in a sports career — not voting for someone who is a borderline candidate invariably makes me feel bad.
But at the same time, a voter must keep in mind that they can cheapen the honor and the institution by voting for those who aren’t...
