The United States Bowling Congress is celebrating the 2017 Open Championships reaching 10,000 teams, as it rightly should.
It is the first time that barrier has been crossed since 2013, when the tournament drew 10,253 in Reno.
The tournament hadn’t been below 10,000 teams since the last century (1999 in Syracuse) until it dropped to 9,024 in Reno in 2014, 7,315 in El Paso in 2015, and 8,063 in Reno in 2016.
