Wes Malott averaged 244 to lead PBA Badger Open qualifying on Wednesday, but rookie Francois Lavoie continued to be the story at the PBA Fall Swing, finishing just behind Malott in the Badger Open and leading Detroit Open qualifying.
Malott fired games of 251, 248, 215, 248, 286 and 236 on the 52-foot Badger lane pattern — the longest used in PBA competition — at Thunderbowl Lanes in the Detroit suburb of Allen Park for a 1,464 total, 12 ahead of Lavoie and 15 ahead of Rash.
