Full-time PBA player Tom Hess didn’t even know he’d be able to bowl the 2014 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships until last fall after a poor World Series of Bowling dropped him out of the top 50 in PBA Tour points.
Luckily for the 2011 USBC Masters champion, he was able to hook with a solid group of Iowa bowlers that competed in an open spot on his schedule: Wednesday and Thursday, May 7-8.
