Willie Wells grabbed the lead from Kerry Painter as qualifying ended Thursday in the inaugural International Training and Research Center Super Senior Classic, the United States Bowling Congress reported.
Wells, a 65-year-old righty, added 1,357 for his six games Thursday to 1,378 Wednesday for a 2,735 total, 26 pins ahead of Painter.
