Mike Pounders fell a pin shy of perfection in an 812 series to highlight Madison area bowling on Monday.
Pounders chained games of 276, 299 and 237 in the Dream Lanes Suburban Merchants League.
Continuing his comeback from terrible injuries suffered in a car crash a couple of years ago, Madison Bowling Association Hall of Famer Dick Kalnicky was next with a 772 series in the Dream MARBA League.
Andrea Brenner led women’s scoring with a 649 in the Dream Lanes Nighters League.
