This year’s U.S. Opens are looking a lot like they did back in the days of smaller fields, PTQs and local qualifiers.
When I went on the PBA Tour in 1987, I had not earned a spot and could not win one for the U.S. Open, which that year was the first of the $500,000 Seagram's U.S. Opens.
