Chris Gibbons and Dave Beres finished one pin apart in taking over second and third place at the Petersen Classic on Monday, but how they got there was totally different.
Gibbons was 47 over with two games to go and rolled a clean 193 and then a 168 with the only opens being a 4-9 split and a 3-6-9-10 he left the 9-pin on.
His 1,608 finished 19 pins short of leader Tim Behrendt, while Beres finished one pin behind Gibbons after rallying his finals games.
