Nelson wins Windy City showdown for Boot Hill sweeper title

In a title match battle of Chicago area bowlers, Ron Nelson beat Rick Hara, 227-204, to win the Saturday night sweeper of Woody Demma's Grand Boot Hill at Fox Bowl in Wheaton, Ill. First was $4,000 and second $2,000 in the sweeper, which was contested on a 32-foot pattern with only about 16 mls of oil. There was so much hook several players were using plastic or urethane balls.
