The United States Bowling Congress last week announced that a new independent corporation was being created to oversee and manage SMART (Scholarship Management and Accounting Reports for Tenpins) funds for juniors bowlers. USBC has come under heavy criticism from some in the bowling world over its handling of SMART funds. I won't pretend to understand all of the issues but the move to an independent entity sounds like a wise one....
