Like many a teen bowler in the 1970s, Marshall Holman and Mark Roth were my favorites. Back then, Marc McDowell and I had a Saturday routine: bowl at Village Lanes in Monona until the PBA Tour came on ABC-TV and then go into the bar to watch as Marc's dad Larry McDowell bartended. More often than not, Roth and/or Holman -- and/or Earl Anthony, of course -- were on the show....
