Mats Karlsson of Sweden is universally recognized as the first international player to win a PBA Tour title with his victory in the 1986 Southern California Open.
I am not arguing with Karlsson being considered the first international player to win a PBA Tour title, but by another standard, the first international player to win a PBA Tour title was the player who won the first PBA Tour title: “Wrong Foot” Lou Campi, who was born in Italy.
