The U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open feature four lane patterns, with the first three used just for the three 8-game qualifying blocks, but the fourth for the 32 games of the cashers round and round-robin match play, as well as the stepladder finals. Logically, that would mean a great chance for players to rise up the standings and fall down the standings depending on whether they hit or miss that fourth pattern.
