The 2022 Wisconsin High School Bowling Club State Championships are set for Friday through Sunday, March 4-6 at Sabre Lanes in Menasha and Super Bowl in Appleton, the Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin announced.

The team portion will feature 50 boys/co-ed teams and 28 girls varsity teams, compared to 48 and 27 in 2021, 49 and 29 in 2020, 48 and 27 in 2019, 48 and 26 in 2018, and 50 and 28 in 2017, while the singles portion will feature 103 boys and 59 girls, compared to 97 and 55 in 2020, 100 and 61 in 2020, 98 and 60 in 2019, 94 and 54 in 2018 and 100 and 56 in 2017. The bowlers come from 14 districts across the state, competing in two divisions for thousands in scholarship funding.

The lane patterns are Kegel Mercury 4940 for singles, Kegel Chromium 6742 for team, and Kegel Big Ben 7344 for the Storm Scholarship Doubles on Sunday at Super Bowl. (Kegel Beaten Path VI 4541 will be used for the Wisconsin All Star Team Challenge on Saturday, March 12 at Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac.)

Admission is $10 for the entire weekend, including the championship stepladder finals on Sunday.

Saturday night's team semifinals will be webcast by BowlingInsiders with Cale and Tim, and Sunday’s finals for both team and singles will be webcast live on Emil Williams’ BowlStream TV, with ESPN Wisconsin’s Jesse Nelson announcing with Williams.

For the All Star Team Challenge, all 14 high school districts are invited to send their top five boys and top five girls based on their year-end fill percentage.

The tournament combines a singles competition and a team competition with total pins from both events added together to determine the top three teams in each division. All five bowlers roll three games of singles competition and awards and scholarships are presented to the top boys and girls prior to the team competition. The team competition is 10 Baker format games. The top three teams earn a berth in the stepladder finals of 2-game Baker matches.

The Wisconsin HSBC will award $1,700 in scholarships ($1,000 team & $700 singles).
