Brian Waliczek, a 3-time Eagle winner at the USBC Open Championships, fired a 1,627 on Friday to take the lead at the 2020 Petersen Classic at Brunswick Zone River Grove in suburban Chicago.
The prior leader was Harold Hughes, a fellow Michigan bowler who totaled 1,589 on the opening weekend of the 2020 Petersen, which was truncated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
