When Chris Pounders and I first went to the Super Bowl Doubles at Pla Mor Lanes in La Crosse about a dozen years ago, it was as much social as competitive, with lots of drinking, needling and general hilarity. Somewhere along the line, it became a little more competitive and a little less social, with another La Crosse center starting a more party-oriented doubles on Super Bowl Sunday that drew some of the local duos that made the tournament so much fun.
