When Brandon St. Onge ended doubles with a perfect game Monday at the 2022 UBSC Open Championships, it made a run at the singles lead seem unlikely: The adrenaline and emotion of the run at 300 usually would take a bit to come down from. I can attest to that from my own experience: In 1993, I left a painful blower 7 to open doubles with 299, fell just below 200 the next game as it took me a bit to come back down, but ended minors with a 6-game total just under 1,500.
