Tom Hess closed qualifying with a perfect game to take a 145-pin lead over Amleto Monacelli as the 2021 PBA50 Senior U.S. Open moved to match play. While only 32 of the 78 players averaged 200 or better over the 16 games of qualifying at Harvest Park Bowl in Brentwood, California, Hess in Monday’s second round rolled games of 171, 246, 194, 222, 221, 268 and 300 for 1,848 and a 16-game total of 3,643 (227.69 average).
