In 2019, U.S Open players dealt with the notorious flat pattern on the first day of qualifying, while last year it came in the third round. This year, the flat pattern will stagger the players in the second round, sandwiched by a pair of patterns that favor outside angles. And the key and interesting fourth pattern is a near copy of the PTQ pattern, with similarities to some past U.S. Open patterns.
