The 34th edition of the popular Wisconsin Scratch Bowlers Tour Over 40/Under 40 Doubles, is set for Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. at Revs Bowl Bar & Grill, 275 N. Washburn St. in Oshkosh.
At least one bowler must be over 40 years old, and both can be over 40. Only one PBA member is allowed per duo, but two PBA50 members may bowl together. PBA players who have won a PBA Tour title in the past two seasons, or who finished in the top 10 in PBA Tour points in 2024 are ineligible.
The entry fee is $150 per bowler ($120 to the prize fund, $30 to lineage and expense) and first prize is $3,000 based on 72 teams, and it will be $4,000 with 90, as it has been in recent years. The tournament will only go beyond 72 teams if there are 80 $50 deposits in advance of the tournament.
The tournament has more than $2,000 in added money. There also is plenty of side action.
A $50 deposit is required to hold a spot and the ways to pay are in the flyer attached as a PDF.
The doubles format is four games of qualifying followed by 1-game matches, with one-third of the field making the cut and cashing — 32 teams advance with 90 entries. Byes will be awarded to higher seeds if needed.
Ties for finals spots after qualifying will go to the team that had the highest team game during qualifying. Even if there is a tie for a finals spot that will receive a bye in a round, the tie will be broken by highest team game. If there is a tie for the last spot in the finals, there will be a 9th & 10th frame roll-off for that spot by all bowlers involved on a neutral pair of lanes, if available.
After the quarterfinals, the final four teams will be seeded for a stepladder based on the scores of the quarterfinal match.
